I
decided that I will attain a career in the allied health field as a Dental Hygienist
since my passion has always been assisting others and trying to improve their
quality of life. The value of education it is something that I have understood
since at a very young age. Neither of my parents had an opportunity to attend
college, or any higher education, as they have faced many struggles in their
personal and professional lives because of lack of education. My father works
at Tyson and my mother is currently unemployed as she has to stay home with my
siblings and help to provide for five dependents in the house. My father is the
sole financial provider in my family. The stress and unusual demand of being
the sole provider is hindering my family. I am the sole, first generation
college attender of my family with financial assistance I look to become the
first graduate as well. Paying for all my college expenses would be a financial
impossibility for them. I would be grateful to receive financial assistance of
any kind to achieve my goals.

I
know that all of my goals will remain dreams if I do not complete my Dental
Hygiene Degree. Therefore, I am committed to working hard in school and looking
for opportunities that could help me make my goals a reality. Although I am
constantly trying to find more ways and searching for scholarships that will
help me pay for my education, I remain grateful to find opportunities such this
one that the foundation is providing to students. Somehow it assures that I am
not alone on the journey of achieving my educational goals.

I
