Bus services on over 100 routes suspended, protestors continue to spread havoc over release of movie PadmavatiOwing to the ongoing protest against the release of Padmaavati, the bus services have been suspended on more than 100 routes. Thousands of passengers in north Gujarat have been affected due to this move.Rajput Community outfits continue to block highways at several places. Officials stated this to be a precautionary measure. Bus services have been suspended from Ahmedabad to Mehsana, Palanpur , Gandhinagar, Sabarkantha and Banaskantha.Violence in cinema hallsMany incidences of violence in cinema halls came to light. Yesterday, the prostesters caused havoc in Rajhans cinema hall in Nikol area of Ahmedabad.”Owners of various cinema halls have refused to screen the movie. We have decided not to screen the movie in whole of Gujarat. Everyone is scared. No multiplex wants to bear the loss. Why will we bear the loss” demanded Rakesh Patel, director, Gujarat Multiplex association.Romantic angle between Rani Padmavati and Allaudin Khilji, cause of protestThe protestors have been resorting to violence claiming that this movie demeans the pride of Rajputs. At a press conference in Jaipur, prostesting group’s leader, Lokendra Singh Kaul said, ” Jauhar ki jawala hai, bahut kuch jalega, rok sako toh rok lo( this is the fire of Padmini’s self-immolation, much will be burnt, stop us of you can)”.Meanwhile,  the producers of the movie have sent yet another letter to the protesting outfits urging them to resolve their ‘misguided grievances’. The letter dated January 20, 2018 invites the prosters to watch the movie. The letter also states that the movie does not contain any love scenes between the Rani Padmavati and Allaudin Khilji, all-powerful Delhi sultan.The outfits however remained unaffected by the letter.The movie set to release on January 25 is likely to remain off screens in more than 100 multiplexes and hundreds of cinema halls.
